A very Good Hotel
Sherlock Holmes has an excellent curb appeal & good ambiance. The rooms a little smaller than my liking; yet clean & livable. The staff is very hospitable as most of the Swiss hotels possesses. Meiringen is one of the most beautiful places of Switzerland. Sherlock Holmes died at the waterfalls of this city (in the movie of course).

Good for family holiday
We stayed here with two kids and 3 nights in May. While this is of course not a 5 star hotel, the rooms were spacious (we had a family room with a separate bed room, a living room [with a couch that sleeps 2 and is comparably comfortable for a sleeping couch], bathroom and balcony) and clean and the pool was a nice spot to have a little paddle after a day out in the mountains and fresh air (though the water in the pool is on the cold side). Breakfast was basic, but offered muesli, cold cuts, cheese, bread rolls, croissants etc.
